After narrowing it down to Oregon, Arizona, and Washington, three-star cornerback Troy Hill officially made the call today, pledging a verbal commitment to the University of Oregon.

The Ducks continue to load up on talented prospects for a defensive backfield that will lose a number of players to graduation after this season, as three-star cornerback, Troy Hill, of Ventura (CA) St. Bonaventure gave his verbal pledge to Oregon defensive backs coach John Neal on Wednesday evening.

According to Hill, the in-home visit by Coach Neal was merely a formality, as the highly touted corner notified the staff a few weeks ago of his intentions to become a Duck.

"I talked to them like a week or two ago," admitted Hill, "and told them that I was going to commit. They (the coaching staff) were real excited about it."

After narrowing his final list of schools to Oregon, Arizona, and Washington, Hill chose Oregon after deciding it was simply the best place for him.

"I think that (Oregon) was just the best fit for me," stated Hill, "I can't go wrong with Nike and they know what it takes to win games."

Hill says he looked in to the possibility of enrolling early at Oregon, but due to some of the restrictions at St. Bonaventure, early enrollment won't be an option.

"At my school, we're not able to do that," said Hill, "but I wanted to though...I'm just going to go up in June (instead) so I can take summer school."

Finally, those concerned about Hill taking additional visits to other schools need not worry. Hill claims he's all Duck.

"I'm ready to move forward," said Hill, "I want to get ready for the next level."
