Biography:
Arguably the team’s most versatile and important defender, Josh Pinkard returns to free safety this season after spending most of last year at cornerback. Pinkard is such a talent, however, that he could probably earn all-league honors at both positions. He has a nose for the ball and is always in the right place. His combination of smarts and aggressiveness makes him a joy for Trojan fans to watch and a nightmare for quarterbacks to get a read on. Pinkard finished third on the team last year with 54 tackles, and added two interceptions and two forced fumbles. His fumble recovery and subsequent return against Arkansas was one of the highlights of the game. This year, Pinkard will become a star as he is now the veteran leader of the Trojan secondary.
